Research

From scuba diving to dumpster diving, and everything in between!

My research has spanned from coral reef ecology and conservation in Florida, Australia, and the South Pacific to environmental engineering and waste management infrastructure around the world. I have gone from studying the health of our oceans and the pollution that exists there to preventing pollution from entering the environment in the first place. My current work focuses on quantifying circular materials management and circular economy at the local level, particularly in cities and island nations, and in working collaboratively with communities and stakeholders to develop pollution prevention solutions.

Where has the world of waste taken me?
